Sunrise from Sarangkot Hill, Pokhara, Nepal

Wednesday October 22, 2025 - Part 1 

We had a 6:15 pickup for the 20-minute drive to Sarangkot Hill. We stopped for a short coffee break before taking the "short" hike up the many steps in the pitch dark. 

There is a tower there, but it was so crowded we just stayed on the ground moving from different spots for the panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayas including Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) & others.

Fingers were crossed that it was a beautiful sunrise since often they just don't happen in a spectacular fashion. I'd say the photos speak for themselves. Tons of photos taken and I deleted more than these....

Walking back down it was nice to see what we missed in the dark. We then went back to the hotel for breakfast and a shower before being picked up at 9:45 for our flight to Chitwan for a few days of safari in the National Park.

Part 2 is our afternoon in Chitwan National Park.
