Pokhara to Chitwan National Park - Half Day Game Drive - Chitwan, Nepal

Wednesday October 22, 2025 - Part 2

We were picked up at the Bharatpur airport by Kamal & Bhim who would be our guide and driver for our stay at Temple Tiger Green Jungle Resort. Green Jungle Resort

We were shown to our rooms and had a late lunch before going out on a half day jeep game drive inside the community forest, Kamal was our guide our driver Bhim and they worked very hard to find critters for us. We referred to Bhim as “Jim Downstream” (if you are familiar with Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom where Jim got up close and personal while Marlin Perkins stayed in the boat or vehicle) since he always got out maybe with just a stick to check out an area before we got out and went to see it. (to make sure it was safe or even if there was anything to get out and see)

the beds were so wide that the linens didn't fit, so they used 2 and overlapped them (made the bedding heavy in some areas and not much in others)

We started with a beautiful sunrise in Pokhara and ended with a beautiful sunset in Chitwan

This afternoon we saw 7 Greater One-horned Rhino aka Indian Rhino including one with a baby around 4 months old and another with a one- or two-year-old young. We also saw wild boars, Indian Peafowl, water buffalo and many birds. Very hard to get photos. 

That evening there was a slide show presentation given by our guide to everyone staying at the resort. There weren’t many people there for the first couple of days which we were thankful for. Our last night there was a large group that kind of just took over the place.

Tomorrow, we have a full day game drive.
